Thank God for digital cameras

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is THE most photographed event in the world.  It’s nearly impossible to stop taking photos.  Every second provides for a new scene that must be captured.

Can you imagine photographing this event with film?  After 36 shots you’d have to change your film roll.  I’m so grateful for digital cameras … you can just keep snapping away.  AND, you can take video too!

This time next year I should have a new camera, and you can bet your megapixels I will be taking all the photos I can (with the only restriction being the size of my memory card).

Below is a small sampling of the 227 photos I took at this year’s fiesta (within a 3.5-hour timeframe).

Please be sure to also visit my Weekly Watermelon blog for more pictures of balloons with a Sandia Mountain backdrop.
