A few days in the Rocky Mountains and I was inundated by fabulous flowers, both wild and fantastical.
On a Thursday evening, Mark and I made a visit to the Denver Botanical Gardens where the blown glass work of Dale Chihuly was featured. Arriving just before sunset, it was like seeing two art exhibits: first was a stroll through the gardens where you could see natural flowers juxtaposed with glass artwork and second was an illuminated (and romantic) tour of this magical exhibit.
The next day, my dear friend Amy whisked me up to the top of the Vail Pass where we enjoyed a hike up Shrine Mountain at the peak of wildflower viewing. It was like gallivanting through the Alps (sans lederhosen) with panoramic views of majestic mountain tops. We were even able to enjoy a lovely picnic with a view.
